I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a real hard time determining the type of insulation film being used from the color of the paint applied to a cap.
OK, I'm just being silly here. But you still have to be more specific if you want a useful answer. Mylar is technically a brand name for a polyester film - both terms are used.
Ceramic caps (for example), which have very little resistance even at very high frequencies, would be the wrong type for this application.
Follow Ups:
PJ,
High WVDC polyester film caps. are PRICEY. Ceramic caps. in series with carbon comp. resistors may be the best practical solution.
Eli D.
What value resisters would you use?
Thanks
Cleet
