I used to throw charged 16V caps at my "friends" in college and yelled "CATCH!!!" LOL

Follow Ups:
We used to plug old paper electrolytics into the wall out in the garage and watch them spray out and it would smell like someone crapped their pants or passed some major gas..
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
Just gotta remember to flip the Standby switch, so that the PSU rail is connected to the preamp tubes. Amp unplugged. 8^)Here's a photo you may like. This is what happens when one solders a filter cap in the main PSU with wrong polarity --- 1969 Bassman "doghouse" --- OUCH.

Here's the correct polarity. Tech soldered both caps on the left with the (-) facing down.

early on. Small cap only 63 volt and about 470 uF . The pop was so loud my ears were ringing for about 15 minutes !
Never again......
Guess this is one of the better reasons to have a metal cover over those main filter caps. I've seen amps where can cans blew up due to a short ---- BIG yucky mess. Kinda like a chemical grenade going off.
8^)
