Gday I haven't been able to buy cooling caps for my 4e27 pentodes yet. Its the last parts I need to buy after all this time. It has taken me at least 3 years to buy all the parts. Peter at tribute supposed to be nearly ready to send out my finemet outputs which I am looking forward to possessing such a awesome pair of outputs. Can anyone direct me a place where I can buy some caps please. Or am I going to have to machine them? I also need 3c24 and 4-65A caps if they don't just take a standard porcelain tube cap. I even have a single 75tl I want to try. It occurs to me since audio op points wont be anywhere as high as normal that maybe smaller cooler caps may be required to keep the plates hot enough to cherry up.

Thanks Tim you just saved me from paying way to much for a beat up pair of used hr6,s on ebay. I forgot about these guys. I tend to get lazy and buy from ebay because its so fast and easy with paypal. I hope these like aussies ha ha cheers!
I am assuming you mean searching ebay and waiting for them to come up as I haven't found any in the last few weeks. Strangely 4e27 data on tdsl doesn't state recommended cap type also. Edit it is there in the rca data because when I google HR5 plate cap the rca data comes up. I just cant see it. Sorry for the time waste. I will find all the caps I need now I know what to buy. It will just take a little while if I want them pretty cheap and bought with paypal.

I guess I need to adjust airflow to constantly keep plates cheery red or just orange? How critical is it. Can I stuff about setting them up with out running them at orange to red? Or will they gass out?btw I have a pair of Softone outputs. For years I have wanted to try cathode feedback with A PP or a A2 amp. Feral eye got me going on that idea. I am not sure about these softones. I have read some discouraging comments about these. I love outputs that can be reconfigured in so many different ways. Good for lots of different projects on a budget.
What is interesting with pp configuration using these is they have a large gap. They claim this is good as you have rock solid inductance stability. Of course they would ;)
I have often liked se amps with 16 ohm speakers on 8 ohm taps like my current ten y amp with 5k ae outputs running ten k. And only running half the current they should. Good inductance stability? Big trans better bass? maybe. Only single drivers not for fullrange.
I am open to sugestions on what tube to try PP with these. I was thinking for reason of heat and energy consumption that 4-65a tubes or chinese 211. Many guys here over the years have like 211 PP amps.

Eimac HR-5 plate caps (for the 4E27) are available on eBay or from a number of online suppliers.
The 3C24 uses the HR-1, which is equally available.
4-65A uses the HR-6, although any 3/8" cap can be adapted as long as you keep dissipation at or below approx 50 Watts.
I got may father to turn caps for VT127A but was lucky to find some genuine 3C24-sized Eimac caps on Ebay . I'm pretty sure RFparts.com have what you need
