Thanks to Chris O'Connor for making it happen. I didn't receive it as yet so I haven't heard it but according to Chris it sounds great. I built a couple of them in the past and they all had a hum in them even with battery filament. I wanted this one to be the last one I ever get done so I went to the person with the knowledge to do it. It has the Rod Coleman regs for the filament and is filament biased. It is using output transformers in place of coupling caps. The volume control knob that is on there will be replaced by a nice aluminum one.

someone what to educate me on why this tube for preamps is so desirable?
Nice build!!
Is that filament bias a commercial product or a public domain schematic?

As you know, I have built one for myself as well. Thanks to Andy and Rod for guiding me along the way through out the build and troubleshooting process, I was able to complete the project.
I hope, like me, it will be your last preamp. Even SS amp that sounds okay improves much when using the 26 preamp, you will see. Oh, no need for tube phono preamp either hahaha!I use GZ1 as a rectifier, what are you using?
Also, I use GoldPoint attenuators on mine and since I built it myself and know how to mess with it, I tried bypassing it (one source one output)and cannot discern any difference on my 98-100dB Altec base system with or without. Congrats again!

Abe,
I haven't gotten it as yet. Chris is doing some last minute tweaking so we'll see on that. Look at the vinyl asylum at my new TT as well.
Yep, I saw the pics you posted of your TD 124. Without a view showing the SN or the front where the wooden arm board is resting, I cannot tell if it is an MKI or MKII (MKII has a slanted corner, MKI does not have one from the samples I have). But, looks very good and hope you are going to enjoy it for a long long time.
I never tried slate plinth. I know there's a sound difference between hollow and solid CLD type as I experimented on those.
Looks very smart. I've often wondered about DHT for preamp use.

Good work! The 26 preamp is a prince of preamps.
I've built a few of these myself, as you know, and we worked long and hard on the design with Rod Coleman, Ale Moglia, and Thomas Mayer who pioneered the ingenious filament bias arrangement.
Happy listening!
Andy
The thing is dead quiet, the Coleman regs with the filament bias are incredible. Paul sprung for the Lundahl output transformers and I added a source follower B+ circuit. I just upped the voltage to 180 and the current draw to 6mA an it is perfect. It is so fun when the work results in something special.
