Certainly not Auricaps but better than some of the others like orange drops(which ring rather savagely) IMO. They are reasonably well made and not more.

WHICH "orange drops" are you referring to? There are a large number of varieties of "orange drops", "orange dips", etc. out there, some of which aren't so hot, one is very good. Some are polyester/mylar dielectrics, some use steel/copperweld leads, and there are a bunch of knockoffs no one really knows much about.
I'd also like to hear how you determined the cap was "ringing". Can you tell us how you were able to determine that was occurring? Thanks.
For those who do not know, the Vishay/Sprague 716P series "Orange Drops" (the name is trademarked BTW) are film/foil polypropylene with tinned copper leads. That's the ones I use - in the appropriate locations - with excellent results.
Where to buy those 716Ps these days? I agree they are very good (dare I say "for the money"). Thanks. It's just that I prefer teflon film and foil when cost is no object.
Antique Electronic Supply has them.
Spooky that Mouser doesn't seem to carry them anymore.
Might be time to load up.

I carry them (some values), and I have no problem getting them resupplied in quantity at all. But things do change, I just hope not for the worse in this case!!
At those prices, it's hard NOT to think that they cannot possibly be first rate, but I know that they are, in fact. Thanks.
