Can you post a schematic of the audio circuit and PS. I love 801/10/VT-25 etc.

Well ... I do not have a proper schematic handy but this gives you an idea. Batteries are not there at the grid, I am using zeners at the cathode.

What pre amp do you use to drive the step-up input transformers?
all my preamps/sources have step-down transformers at the output ... tipically 10K:600
anyway there was someone somewhere who built a 300B spud amp and had no problems, I misplaced the URL but that site was full of good info also on filaments.
