On two track:
Christmas from Hawaii with The Surfers on HiFi R-410
Bach - Christmas Oratorio on Concert Hall Society CHT BN-21-2
A Christmas Festival - Leroy Anderson on Decca ST7-8925
Liane Sings Christmas Songs on Vanguard VST-3016
Christmas with Grandma Moses on RCA CPS-174
This is quite a diversity of Christmas music. Columbia, Capital, Livingston, and Omegatape all released at least one Christmas title on 2-track.
There has never been a shortage of Christmas recordings. The reason? It sells, and music is a big part of Christmas.
Follow Ups:
Westminster SWB 8008 Christmas at Radio City, featuring Dick Leibert at the Wurlitzer. Sonic B, rather dull performance, but interesting to hear how Westminster dealt with a 6000-seat room.
Thanks Guys!
Merry Christmas
I have the Chipmunks Christmas Album on two track as well as the Mills
Brothers Christmas, The Voice of Music Christmas library, Johnny mathis Christmas and quite a few others on Bel Canto
Concertape, Columbia and Dot. Those two tracks are hard to find now.
If you play the Chipmunks at half-speed, do you hear Dave Seville (Ross Bagdasarian) singing harmony with himself -- using goofy voices to add timbral color?
I've always meant to do this...
all the best,
mrh
Yes you do.
