Someone local who knows I collect stuff..is trying to selll it to me.

Are you sure he doesn't have a Magnacord? Those are worth collecting.
Yes they did or at least had them made for them. There were four models some built in and others freestanding. They were middle of the road and nothing special.
Not sure exactly, but I remember the salesman at the local Maggotbox dealership trying to sell me either one of those or something else. He said, quote "It's a real honey." Forty years later, I can still see him saying that. Fortunately, I kept my wits about me and bought the Roberts (Akai) machine, model 1719, with all the money I had at the time.
Trust me, you don't need no Magnavox.

In some of their consoles, they offered a unit made by another manufacturer; nothing to write home about.
