Hello all
I am working on this machine, while disassembled the tension rollers to clean and apply new damping fluid,i found that 3 nylon balls were missing, obviously this indicates that someone has disassembled the parts before and forgot to install these 3 nylon balls back.Has anyone got the same problem and where did you find the replacement nylon balls? All the helps will be appreciated! Thanks.
This business seems to understand vintage audio. The link is to their misc. parts site and includes other bearings for a RT-909 R2R. I didn't see any plastic balls listed, but I suspect they will know what you need if you call them.
I have no connection to this business and have not bought from them before.
Thank you Rtbarr, bob is a good guy, i have ordered stuffs from him before.I'll check with him,if i cant get those nylon balls,i might have to use a washer as i think these balls are for spacing purpose, also providing a smooth motion when the tension roller drum spinning.I just have to make sure about the washer thickness i am going to use,i will see how far the balls sticking out of the plastic holder.Just have to lube the washer well, hope it'll work, untill i get the right replacement nylon balls.
I had Deltronics re-do my -909. Maybe Mike can help you locate parts.
BTW-great work!
pax vobis
Thanks Sober1
