Nice link Richard!
I've had a UNL-2 for about a year now and my recordings never turn out that nice (no big surprise there). The mic pre's are really nice though and all I need to do is buy some decent mic's to plug into it. Most of the small time recordings I've made with it so far have been directly to the "record panel" of the MH (we call them Mio's)or the recorder in my editing software.
I've seen his name on the Mio mailing list a few times.
Here's another guy I know from the Mio list that does more experimental stuff including a performance piece using 16 old style phone pieces.
The first link is the festival that the telephone piece was performed.

Hiya, IB:
Nice to hear back from you! Why not equip yourself with better microphones and out out there with your MH units, etc?
BTW, every Summer Solstice, June 21st, there is an awesome event held at Oakland's Chapel of the Chimes. If you want to experience unusual experimental musical performances, this is the event of the year.
I once tried to do a walk thru with binaural microphones but there was way too much in the way of foot traffic, conversations in the halls, to make it viable for me.
In any event, if you are around the area this Sunday, check it out at the URL below.
My wife, Cathryn Hrudicka will be performing in the Cornelius Cardew Choir there, however.

Oh, what the heck!
Here's some jazz that I recorded last year with some modified Sennheiser mini's to a home brewed battery box to a lowly mini disc recorder (slightly upgrade mic pre's).It wasn't too noisy. It still took about 45 edits to get rid of the worst chatter though.
{Edit}
Sorry about that guys. I hope nobody downloaded that messed up file!
Here's a correction. It does take some time to download if you haven't got broadband.

Hi, IB:
I clicked on the url and found that no files came up, for some reason.

Hi Richard,
I changed the file (my editing software wasn't exporting in the one format I chose to upload). The URL should work now. I should know to preview the link before I post it!
Sorry.
Hi, IB:
Still nothing, sorry. BTW, I tried to upload four files today of the Talich String Quartet's performance at Kohl Mansion, Burlingame and if this works at all, I will be happy to provide you the url to locate it.
Would you kindly send me a private note with your regular e-mail?

This should work!
I forgot to turn on "sharing" on the file,.. Duh!
Sorry.
Hi, IB:
I put up four files the other day of a recording I did on October 21, 2007 of the Talich String Quartet at Kohl Mansion, Burlingame.
Please let me know if you have any success in downloading them.
