I was thinking the other day about how wonderful it would be if the Asylum had product reviews. But it does! I was a little disappointed, though, that there aren't any professional reviews.
What I am suggesting is a place in the product database for links to professional reviews, and preferably a way for inmates to set up these links.

Actually, that capability is built in, but not turned on. My thought was that the e-zines could add their content, but we never pursued implementation. Letting inmates do it is an interesting idea, but it'd require making the process more robust. I actually want to re-write the whole review app to make it more data driven and take advantage of the database which it doesn't do at this point which would be a good time to add something like this.

I'd love to help out in the process. I can't count the number of times I just wish I could find a reliable review on a product. Also, numerous times I have been finding all these reviews on products that I wish I could catalog for others to see.
I do have one concern, though. What about very good, non-professional reviews? What is the best way to preserve them and help them be read without plagiarizing?
Thanks, Rob. I'd love to contribute towards this site any way I can. :-)
Speaking with several different hifi manufacturers (none that I have ever or currently work for), many pro reviewers are "motivated" by the prospect of free stuff. Therefore, I sometimes pay more attention to what's reviewed on here, and how it's reviewed.
