Unlikely, but it sure would make for a cleaner installation. :)
Room acoustic treatment would make more difference.

I thought perhaps that the signal would arrive at different times to the subs and main speakers due to the different lengths.
However, what to do with all that speaker cable !?

The speed of light and the speed of sound are different, electrical signals essentially travel at the speed of light.
Agreed on both. Went from the 35' REL supplied hook-up wire to a 6' Signal Cable (REL type) hook-up. The installation looked much better, but I can't say there was a staggering improvement sonically. Room placement(REL sub) and acoustic treatments would have a greater impact by far.
