I have an m&k v-125 now. I was wondering if the Definitive technology Powerfield 15 sub would be an upgrade? I've found it really cheap. No dust cover but in very good condition for $40. Should I buy it? Is it an upgrade to the M&k v-125? I hate over boomimg bass .Does this sub do that?

I just got a Definitive technology Powerfield 15 Subwoofer. It sounds great. But when I turn it on with no other ower sources even on there is a constant faint clicking or popping noise...Could it be a ground issue? Any ideas ? I have a M&k V 125 hooked to the output of the Definitive and its working great. What should I do? Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
Get it.I have Def Tech bi-polar towers and I have always been amazed at how musical they are despite being HT speakers. The subs are never boomy, but like anything else, you need to spend time properly setting it up.
Edit... DefTech also stands behind their products even of they are long out of production. They can probably provide any missing parts.

buy it and use it as a second sub- two subs re better than one!
Don't worry about matching subs

No experience with the DT sub. I upped from the same M&K sub to a Rythmic 15 in. No contest. I used the M&K for HT, but could never integrate it for music.
