Good news indeed.

Behringer are only " considering" moving production to a new plant in Scotland.
However it appears that they have already announced the closure of the Coatbridge plant and the accompanying redundancies. As their aspiration to stay manufacturing in Scotland currently appears to have no concrete basis and as no potential location in Scotland for any new plant has even been identified this means that the skill base of the staff who have built the high end Prestige models to date will shortly have been lost.
Frankly if Behringer were serious about keeping manufacturing in Scotland they would not close the Coatbridge plant until its replacement has been decided upon and production can be transferred. Then there is a chance to retain skills and to move appropriate and willing staff to the new location. Colour me sceptical.
Likely realised (gotten ugly feedback?) that a Chinee built Tannoy won't be a viable product.
Probably planning an 'assembly' (likely repackagings) centre where they can claim Scots origins. To fool the punters.. or Not.
Agreed. My original draft of my posting included the same point but I decided at the time that perhaps it was a speculation too far.Yes, China (or Thailand or somewhere with cheap labour) would deliver finished cabinets, finished drive units and finished crossovers. Tannoy Scotland then bolts the parts into the cabinets, solders the connections and, bingo, "Made in the UK".
British provenance is essential for their Prestige range which has its main market in the Far East where that "Made in the UK" tag represents a lot of the intrinsic value of the product to the buyers. " Made in China"? Just another expensive louspeaker. Drop the price or sell few (if any).
