It is a single band bass boost without define Q. You need real EQ. Here are some inexpensive options.https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/amplifiers/minidsp-pwr-ice125-dsp-2-way-amplifier/

I checked out those plate amps. Look very interesting. However they seem just a little too complicated for my actual needs.
I may just try moving the sub under one speaker if possible. the room is not compact but "full" with little actual wiggle room.
But thanks, those do look like they could be fun in the larger HT room.
Here is the simplest solution, even if it is not the best:
It is easy to use and not expensive, IMHO. I have one in the shelf somewhere gathering dust.
Here is my original review of it: http://www.stereophile.com/content/music-round-34-page-2#o0xApIWM7gtakhzW.97
Kal is right, but....1. Show me a single sub without an EQ and I'll show you a sub that's set too low. :)
2. The two miniDSP units he listed are plate amps + EQ. If you have a powered sub you just want an EQ. I'm enclosing the links to miniDSP directly, but you'll also need a way to measure and calibrate them.
3. If you just want a set-n-forget solution, take a look at the DiracLive solutions from miniDSP. You will need to get a mic, and run through it's process, but you don't need to think. :)
Otherwise you'll need some way to measure the sub, and set it. For this do some reading on Room EQ Wizard or buy OmniMic. Several of the units from miniDSP are available through Madisound but Madisound will ship from the US while miniDSP ships from overseas.

I didn't list two miniDSP plate amps but, in error, the same one twice. I meant to list it once along with a miniDSP 2x4.
Sorry, I'm actually quite foggy headed of late, so I'm surprised I caught any mistake at all. :)
