Anyone know where I can hear any of the big Tannoys? I can get to anywhere between Wash DC and Boston. Their web site gives no hint, as most of the dealers they list don't have showrooms.

Got the Stirling GRs on Audiogon. Unfortunately, my temporary rental has nothing to power them with, so I have to wait for the movers to bring amps etc - some time next week. If they sound half as good as they look, I'll be very happy.

There are no Tannoy dealers in the NYC area, and, as far as I've been able to find out, none in the northeastern U.S. Peter Lanzilotta is trying to find a pair somewhere I can listen to. He says he can still get them when I'm ready to buy, but has nothing to demo.
Tannoy is now a company that is completely unreachable. It's part of the Music Group, which has a "contact" link on its web site that allows no contact whatsoever. Music Group closed Tannoy's Scotland factory, saying they were moving it to China.
The junky small speakers, which I believe are a "Tannoy" label stuck on somethingorother, are still distributed, along with the Eclipse floorstanders, about which no one says anything good. Full-size dual-concentrics seem to have been killed off.
If I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know.

Thank you all. I will get in to hear them. BTW, Jay, the Stirling GE's are within my budget, but budgets *can* get stretched.

I know it's not the northeast but The Audio Co. in Marietta , GA has the Westminsters on display.
Ask IF an inmate will help with your needs??
Alnico Tannoys with a 'Pepperpot' HF design are noticably better sounding that the Tulip waveguide versions (it was a cost cutting measure)
Yess.. Tannoy still Builds both.

I never heard of this dealer but have you contacted them?
Thank you - I'll call them.

I bought my Tannoy 215 DMT II studio monitors from Peter. They are the poor man's Westminster Royal, and I got a great deal on them. Peter is a great guy, salt-of-the-earth, with long Tannoy dealer experience. Tell him that 'Lou' from Michigan sent you.
Prestige series?
Yup never heard them, and would like to.
