Hi, I finally finished a project. This is my first time using a table saw. I bought these Vifa co-ax's from Parts Express for 15 bucks a few years ago. There made in Denmark and look like they would cost way more. Total money spent on stuff was 75 dollars. The speaker dimentions are in a David Weems book. They are a pipe and transmission line. I put that egg crate on the bottom to keep the Acoustastuff in place. It kind of acts like a Dynaco-A-25 variovent but is there to reduce frequency peaks, my recipe added to the pot. I'm from Maine so thats Gronks new cereal and a pink lobster pot bouy from either a woman lobster man or one thats a little light in the loafers. I painted the Danish flag because someone gave me a roll of frog tape and I needed something to do.....Mark Korda

I built my first two pair of speakers many moons back. There is a reward from going through that process not present when you purchase a finished set IMO.
Hey they look great and probably fun to listen to.
I always wanted to build a pair. Had the Fostex's to do it but just never got around to them.
Post a review. I DO want to hear your opinion.
Hi, when I read the David Weems article on the pipe he said other people said the room was full of sound. That wasn't much to go on. I searched the internet to see if other people mentioned the sound but I couldn't find any one else who built the same design.
I can't tell you how it sounds because I built it. The since you built it yourself syndrome kicks in and it would really take anothers oppinion.
They do sound great thou. I have them matched up with a Parts Express sub woofer with a BASH300 sub amp. My main amp right now is a AA-32 Heathkit tube amp about 8 watts a side.
The tried a Dynaco colored grill but it looked like the it was the choice of the pink bouy owner.
That fish tank was once a vibrant Metaframe 20 gallon low when I was younger. I tried making it a cactus terrarium but all but 1 died. I'll make it go again but now it looks like Death Valley.
The speakers image like crazy as the Audax tweeter comes right to the edge of the grill cloth and the frame lies flush or below the rubber surround.
For a test cd I had a Telarc cd with Micheal Murray played at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. This is the disc I adjust my sub to. My sister brought over a E. Power Biggs organ recording and it smoked the Telarc. Thats how good they performed. You can ask sis. Also, Sammy Davis Live at the Cocoanut Grove, Tarzan the musical, Wicked, and Yes Topigraphical Oceans.
I'm going to try another picture and thanks for rappin with me...Mark Korda
I always use The Beatles as a test CD. For the simple reason that I've heard them played on everything from a cheap Japanese 60's transistor radio to a room filling $200k (estimate) stereo. Yes I did say that!!!I know every note, studio chair squeak, engineers talking in the background, etc... But I was a big Yes fan in my day. Even saw them at Madison Square Garden.
But with a speakers the only thing that counts is if YOU like them.
Good luck with that terrarium. Out here in Arizona my yard is a terrarium. Complete with Bark scorpions under everything. I'm not kidding!!! And I HATE tarantulas - they make me scream like a little girlie girl.

What do you have there - tarantula? cool! I used to have Chilean rose.
How do they sound?
