The switch and wires will be in a small chassis and I may hard wire everything to the amp and speakers or maybe use Speakons for connections. Does the attached sketch make sense?

Check, recheck and recheck again like an obsessive compulsive that you did NOT cross the positive and negative lines in anyway WITHOUT THE AMP CONNECTED first.
Yes I know this sounds insulting. But I DID that!!!! and took out a very expensive new amp. Luckily for me the dealer was more than happy to chalk it up to a free warrant repair.
Will work if the amplifier can drive a common ground.
Since the switch is dpdt and he didn't say if its center off but no matter, only one leg is connected to the speaker not in use (switched on) so no circuit no worries. That said I'd never put a toggle switch on the amps out. I'd connect the speakers as needed.

Thanks for the reply. The sketch shows the center position is off. I don't know what you mean by "connect the speakers as needed". Are you saying don't use any switch?
Yes I'm a less is more type. A switch can only degrade the sound for a little convenience.

I love the music of Dmitri Shostakovich ...
It seems that some think it matters. I don't, but I'm new to electronics, so would love to get a straight answer
