I learned today that Orange County Speaker Repair is no longer repairing speakers, however their head speaker repair technician has formed his own company called Speaker Repair Pros.
Thankfully, I don't have a present need, but for future reference, besides this new (old) resource, what other speaker repair shops do you know of in both the Southern and Northern California areas that do reputable work?
Follow Ups:
Good information! Not in California, but Pennsylvania, do not forget Millersound, they also do excellent work, and I highly recommend them as an alternative.
There are a couple of guys on e-bay who sell Altec speakers and REPAIR them. Don't know their name; But go to e-bay and look up 604 speakers and their ad(s) will show up. One guy sells the Altecs and says "the repair shop is just 3 doors down from me."
Captain Dan Stillmunks, AA, DD, CLA (retired USFA)
to what did they change their name? ;^)
"The piano ain't got no wrong notes." Thelonious Monk
Their new name is GLS Audio and here's their new website.
I have no affiliation to them BTW.

Here is another resource for speaker repair.
If you have old JBLs with white woofers -- there are LOTS of accounts of customers getting them back with new surrounds glued on the front side, un-centering the voice coil and effectively ruining the appearance.
Well....I've known the guys there 30 yrs...and live 20 min. away.
Yes, they are not "vintage look" oriented, the customer really needs
to specify that they want it exactly like original. If that's written
on the tag, you're safe. They are(Ron)is easy to deal with.
I went up to OC speaker repair in March and found out they had been bought out and have stop doing any speaker repairs. They didn't even give any info on were we could get out speakers repaired, just a Thank You for support over the years. I had just spoke with the repair guy one before I went up there too!
This info really helps me out with my JBL drivers that I need to have repaired the 2123H and 2245H.
Hopefully they can still get the parts.
Wow. I just had them do my old Infinity speakers a few months ago. Thankfully, I'd assume that their tech is taking over that business.
The only other outfit that I could find in out of Florida, Simply Speakers. I sent them my BMW speakers which are custom and impossible to souce so fixing them was the only option. They're great as well, but I had to ship the speakers whereas I can drop them off in Orange County.
