That's a good sign. But not great.
If they were pure resistive (ain't gonna happen) VS High reactance, now THAT would be a big difference.
Room size now comes into play. A 5500 cubic foot Cavern? 1000 cubic foot den?
All play into ultimate capabilities and required power.
And finally YOU. Like it loud? Realistic Level Marching Band music? Chamber Orchestra? Solo Classic Guitar?
You know, if you have all the stuff, just TRY IT. You might LIKE IT!
Trying to predict such an outcome is ultimately futile.

These guys are the experts but what they are saying is just to try it. You can look at numbers, and think it will work, but it may not. Or you may think it will not work, and surprisingly it sounds good. And remember what sounds nice, we accept better. And remember few of us live alone, so you may need to impress others.
My speakers are supposedly rated 80db/1W/1M, and are 8 ohms.
An impedance chart in the specs shows some interesting stuff (a NASTY phase angle and a bass range that tends to dip below 4 ohms) and they measure closer to 3.8ohms (DMMs read DC resistance, not AC).
But yet they play (cleanly) louder than I have ever needed them to with my current amplifier's 125 WPC at 8 ohms/250 at 4 ohms (Class D Audio SDS-254L)...
As "cloudwalker" says- Plug it in, have a listen, and tell us what YOU think...

With you up until 'impress others'.
My wife is pretty much indifferent to my stereo, except when watching 'The Voice'.
Other memebers of the family? Tin Ears all.
IOW?
Please yourself first.

thanks for all the information i appreciate it...my last amp was about 45 watts into these speakers and it sounded nice. My friend is letting me try a peachtree nova rated at 80w into 6 ohms. I called peachtree even the tech jason said 80w into 8ohns but them he looked it up and was surprised it was 6ohms...so if I am getting around around 60 to 65w per channel that is more than I had before a should be a good thing. thanks
