I only know Ryan and Devore. The latter will give you better amplification choices. When I head the X at a show again and again it sounded puny and distant. May be there was a problem in the setup. The 0/96 is imo the pinnacle of Devore; its more dynamic and loads the room better. The X is more of a modern, lifestyle version. The Ryan 630 is fantastic. I also heard the Tempus at RMAF. Ryan at some point will the price gap between the tempus and 630. The brand reminds me of Hales, using non-razzledazzle design while having great tone.

Thank you for the info. It sounds like the Ryan Tempus III matches my system and listening better than the Devore GX. The O/96 reminds me of the Audio Note AN-E, not a bad thing, especially if I were using tubes, but not the dynamic, full range performer that I would be looking for.
Actually, I haven't upgraded my Aerial 9s because I haven't seen anything that I suspect would be significantly better without spending a lot more money. I am still interested in the 20T v2 but suspicious of the ribbon and how it might sound (or not sound) off-axis.
My perfect speaker would be something that provides just a little more of everything the Aerial 9s do well...maybe a little bigger, a touch more detailed and even more tightly-controlled and deeper very low bass. The amps I will be using provide tons of current and can pretty much drive anything so even a low'ish sensitivity should not be a problem.
