Color probably does affect perception under certain circumstances.On a related note, I remember reading about how one speaker manufacturer claimed that their speakers sounded better with certain types of veneer than with others. Rosewood veneer was said to sound slightly better than oak and other types of veneer, if I recall correctly.
Notice too, it just so happens that rosewood has more red tone in it than blonde oak does...
