After a month with the wilsons and pass x250.5 I swapped out wth my Manley Snapper amps. The sound is glorious richer more harmonic and bass is still very tight and defined. The soundstage became wider and mid's smoother. The Pass sounded better with other speakers. but with the Wilsons Manley comes out the champ
Follow Ups:
You'll note that Wilson frequently partners with VTL to show their wares.
And, you are likely aware that VTL and Manley designs are closely related.
Wonder if I should look for a VTL Preamp with Phono as I want to update my PASS X2.5 pre and Northstar Phono pre
I'm sure that would be a good choice.
I opted for the SP20 because it is a single box phono capable preamp. I believe the VTL models are all separate line stage / phono stage units.
Thanks! for sharing. Great pics!
Always great when that happens!
But considering heat issues, maybe those Manley amps oughta be out where they can get more air circulation around the tubes?
The best combo with the Wilson WP that I heard at the showroom was the Vac Renaissance 70/70.It had all the goodness that the 300b had to offer, with the precision and detailed imaging of the Wilsons.
Enjoy,I'm sure you are having an enjoyable time.
