I wish I was but ALL metal domes
are at least irritating to me.
Some will drive me from the room
in complete agony and this is when
the spikes are at about 25KHz.
With these at about 17KHz
and another just above 20KHz,
I can feel the pain already.
A few soft domes gave me problems too
but to a much lower degree.
I suspect it had to do with cone break-up.
The worst were KEF coincident tweeters.
I stocked up on Dynaudio D260s years ago
because they were the best I heard
in the price range I could afford.DanL
BTW The least annoying were B&W Nautilus.

danlaudionut: Are you a bat? You're telling us you can hear 25,000 Hertz? That's laughable. You probably can't hear anything above 10,000 Hertz.
DanL - I have heard the PSB Imagine T3 speakers and didn't find a problem with any excess brightness or irritating highs, rather they sound smooth and very extended to my ear. I do however strongly agree with you about the KEF Uni-Q drivers! With the current KEF speakers, even the top models that have many fans and have been favorably reviewed, I find the highs to have an artificial metallic coloration which I can't get past. Not sure if there's a peak in the frequency response causing it or another characteristic of the aluminum dome that they continue to use.
