The T3 is not bright. I have heard them several times on different source components. Its a great speaker. Someone commented that the tweeters are aluminum. PSB uses titanium now.
The measurements are excellent so I would hope and expect that it would be an outstanding loudspeaker. I would advise anyone interested to audition it. When I next go traveling, I will try to find time to audition it.
From what he says, danlaudionut probably would not like it. There can be disadvantages to hearing too much.

Definite migrane coming on
with those HF spikes.

I hope you're kidding. There isn't much energy above 15 KHz and most of us are way down in response there. And that doesn't count Fletcher/Munson roll off at normal listening levels. Besides most 'treble' brightness really is around the tweeter crossover region and is the result of problems in the crossover designThose are pretty good response curves and they're even nice by Floyd Toole's standards. Plus for me I like the very good dynamic compression results.
Given the test results and the review I'd be surprised if this isn't at least a very good speaker, especially for the money.

I find the absurd generalizations people make entertaining. :)
I hope you don't mean me.
It is a genetic thing in my case.
Growing up there were a few stores that
had a security system that was ultra-sonic
so everyone else was fine but me and
my two brothers were being driven crazy
by the constant high pitch whistle.
We always left with a headache.
Big N and Two Guys were the worst.
Even our mother couldn't hear it,
and she thought we were crazy.
My older brother was much taller
so it was worse for him.

and I used to get headaches. I can't hear that high anymore so being stuffed in a room full of them wouldn't bother me anymore. I understand being able to hear high frequencies that others can't. I'm having a difficult time understanding that the make up of a tweeter would impart different spectral characteristics. I would like to see a Fourier Analysis done on different tweeter of different compositions being fed a frequency sweep from 3KHz and up measuring the output to see if there is a difference in the spectral content.I'm curious if you would get a headache if you sat and listened to them for a while.

B&W metal domes are just annoying.
Fine short term but not long term.
So some are worse than others.
I had one cheap ribbon that annoyed me too.
Fostex full range drivers are really brutal
so I suspect all spikes really get to me.
I heard several at an audio show and
some had me running out of the room and
others were so bad I couldn't enter the room.
So spike sensitivity and extended hearing
make speaker selection quite interesting.
I have 3 systems now -
DIY Transmission Line Audax/Dynaudio
DIY Infinite Baffle Audax/Dynaudio
Magnepan MGLR-1 (Modified)

i have been annoyed by some berrylium tweeters. also, the coincident driver in thiels has never worked for me. i heard the small kef ls50's in a large room at an audio show and really liked that driver. go figure.

Drivers are drivers, however, cross-over(s) are a different beast.
do what I do. avoid crossovers altogether
I wish I was but ALL metal domes
are at least irritating to me.
Some will drive me from the room
in complete agony and this is when
the spikes are at about 25KHz.
With these at about 17KHz
and another just above 20KHz,
I can feel the pain already.
A few soft domes gave me problems too
but to a much lower degree.
I suspect it had to do with cone break-up.
The worst were KEF coincident tweeters.
I stocked up on Dynaudio D260s years ago
because they were the best I heard
in the price range I could afford.DanL
BTW The least annoying were B&W Nautilus.

danlaudionut: Are you a bat? You're telling us you can hear 25,000 Hertz? That's laughable. You probably can't hear anything above 10,000 Hertz.
DanL - I have heard the PSB Imagine T3 speakers and didn't find a problem with any excess brightness or irritating highs, rather they sound smooth and very extended to my ear. I do however strongly agree with you about the KEF Uni-Q drivers! With the current KEF speakers, even the top models that have many fans and have been favorably reviewed, I find the highs to have an artificial metallic coloration which I can't get past. Not sure if there's a peak in the frequency response causing it or another characteristic of the aluminum dome that they continue to use.
Sure would like to listen to these. For the $$, very high value it seems. I'd like to see the gloss black version as well.
