Attached is a dated image of my past system, but monitor speaker location servers my purpose here. If I place the 10" powered Subwoofer in plane with the monitor speakers, centered between them, and firing forward, is this the best location for the sub? Due to some dynamics I have to move things around, which may be an ideal time to reposition the Sub. As an option I can leave the Sub against the side wall but just move it forward to be in plane with the monitors, and either firing forward or across the room. Now running Merlin TSM MMM Black Magic monitors with an ARC LS17SE preamp, Schitt Bifrost DAC, HK Cit-II amp.

I suppose every setup/room is unique. My sub is behind, approximately equal distance the floorstanders are to the listening postion. Not in the corner, but just against a sidewall angled into the middle of the room.
It makes for the most natural presentation with lower frequencies filling the entire room. No boom, or drawing attention to itself. I found this more convincing than the traditional corner setup.
Depending on your brand of sub-
it can be difficult to place in your room/system.

Look at this link. You may want to try up front near or directly behind one of the main speakers as the article suggests.
Subs are most effective in corners.... In your photo, the speaker placement is ruined by having your tv between and in the same plane.
Subs are most efficient in the corners because they will excite all the room-dimension-based resonant modes. Unfortunately, that will also make them boomy. I would not recommend putting them in corners without very capable EQ/correction.
Most sub manufacturers have a recommended placement. If it's not in your instructions, e-mail them and ask. Best to send them a picture of the room with dimensions.
