I recently @ our Local Thrift Store picked up a nice pair of JBL Control Speakers for dirt cheap! I can not find out what year mine were made, but more importantly is if anyone else has had the chance to hear or maybe even owned a pair of these? I am seeming to like them a lot with my Pioneer VSX 406 Receiver! What are your thoughts on these Speakers?

Good score. My company installs a lot of Harman product in pro sound venues. Just installed 6 Control 28's in a church sanctuary and before that some CBT 70J-1 and the 70JE extension cabinet for a school MPR room. Hooked up to a Soundweb London and Crown amps.

Thanks for the Input!
Harman, JBL's parent corporation, has done extensive work testing and refining speakers for years now. Check out the ten minute video linked below for an explanation of their program. The result is what you are experiencing: inexpensive speakers that sound surprisingly good. Trust your ears and enjoy them!

Thank You very much!
If I'm not mistaken you have a great find. The Control series is more on the pro side along with the Array series etc. Aren't those sort of flatter to possibly go on a wall? Again, if it's the series I'm thinking they aren't cheap either. I'll have to do some checking as well.
I used to not have much respect for JBL until I heard the Array and LS series. The horns sound really good with no harshness or negatives I sometimes hear associated with horns.
Yip, that's the series. Good find. Shows you should always trust your own ears, you recognized the quality.
