A good friend recently moved into a nice high rise condo and faced with having to select something small and probably wall mounted that sounds decent.
He will be doing home theater, probably only front channels, center, and a sub.
The sub he already owns is a HSU monster that will probably have to go but maybe not.
He will also be listening to music in 2-channel mode.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I believe both Definitive and Paradigm have some good on-wall models.
If a sub is too noisy, bass shakers in the couch can do wonders if adjusted to a proper, moderate level.
But before dismissing typical speakers, I'd like to see PICTURES to make suggestions from.
I can highly recommend the Gallo Reference AV speakers. Exceptional sound quality for such a small speaker with very robust build quality. Come in black, silver, and white and can be painted any color you like because of their all-metal construction.
Another one from the Gallo lineup that also gets rave reviews is the Strada (2). Both of these models pop up on A'gon perodically, I bought all 5 of mine there...

If $700 each is in range, a pair of the smallest Ohm Walsh Talls might be nice. Off the wall will transmit less to the neighbors.
These Sonus Fabers are real good. List is $1400 a pair..

I have a pair listed on ebay for half of list price or best offer. ;^ )
I found this for $800, a subwoofer and surroundbar.
If I had a condo I would get that, less chance of getting hung by the neighbors, however that Polk System does look dangerous enough.
