For 2 channel music system I'll need 20 foot runs for either one or two subwoofers. Does the quality of the interconnect matter for this application? I was under the impression that low capacitance is required for transmission of the higher frequencies, but for subwoofers?
Wasn't sure whether to post here or in Cable Asylum.

I would suggest any pro brand such as Canare, Mogami or Belden. My home theater system uses a 20ft run of Canare with XLR connectors. They can be found at Markertek and ebay for decent prices.
I can only speak to powered subwoofers with powerful equalization and XLR termination. If you're going to use one sub I suggest a very long run of Blue Jeans or similar economical custom length cable to determine an optimum location.
With two subs at/or near the main speakers, location may not be an issue depending on the room.
I heard very little, if any, advantage in using a 2M run of Cardas Golden Reference and 25' runs of Blue Jeans.
My friend uses 5 or 6M Blue Jeans cable in this app. No issues in his fairly revealing system.
Yes, but "quality" here entails solid construction and effective shielding. These do not cost a fortune to obtain. I use Metabridge 25' runs from Amazon and have no problems.
Also, consider that the highest frequency they will be asked to pass is maybe 100hz, far from the HF range.
I have found that at least
some silver helps immensely.
Silver plated at least.
Silver helps with impact.
You don't need good silver wire.
YMMV I preferred the cheap silver.
