If it is KEF officially and not just a dealer, I'd say that was a rather strong endorsement.
Starting from scratch, I'd try a tube integrated amp from Manley, VTL, Audio Research, or Conrad Johnson.

I suggest Quicksilver 88 monos. Plenty of power, last forever with outstanding sound.
I've read about folks using them with the integrated version of this ...I currently have Bottlehead Paramount 300B amps and Triangle Titus speakers, want to try some Ref. 3A MM DeCapos with the 300B amps ... then maybe the LS-50s and a higher (than 8) wattage amp ... thinking the Atlas may be just the ticket, but then I'd also (since I have the Parasound P 7 preamp) want to try the Parasound A-21 (would always wonder if it sounded better than the A-23!).
Augggghhhhh! too many choices, not enough $$$ or time ... :D
