Put a bit more cash into the caps in series with the tweeter! ;) Not hundreds, but maybe $20 or $30 into each cap. Many say it's well worth the little bit of extra money.
You can spend insane money on capacitors and foil inductors, and the whole project can cost into the *thousands* if the crossovers are elaborate and top-shelf components are used. You can spend $600 on a single capacitor!
But for a couple hundred bucks you should be able to do better than what you have now.
Cheers,

I've been using the Clarity ESA caps. Sound very nice and cheap. Average price $16-ish.
Here's a little reading to enjoy.
Don't spend crazy amounts of money on caps. At a certain point you are being taken!!!!
The reason I mentioned Madisound, even if it's for parts, is because they do NOT do the hard sell. They will get you the best part for what you need without having to take out a bank loan.
I used Clarity Cap PX line a few times. Nice caps - really good price.
I like Madisound too. Great to deal with - and I am in Canada, eh? lol

Parts Express has a line of Caps that are very good from what I have heard. I am not paying for the Big Dollar Caps when Parts Express Caps are tested at the same tolerances 1% for their best ones. I would not put high dollar Caps in a pair of Mid level speakers.Yes I like the drivers in my Paradigms but lets face it they are not ScanSpeak or better drivers in the first place.I have desided to go with Coner building me new crossovers as he is willing to work with me and keep to my budget. Thank you everyone for your help. I am always impressed by the amount of great people on this site that are more than willing to help. Please never let what happened to Agon happen here. The people here are of the finest around.Love Audio Asylum support her.
I use Solen PB type mostly. :)
I just don't want to rain on any parades...
Cheers,

Have used these in a number of projects, and couldn't be happier. With decent midline drivers, they are probably tighter tolerance than the drivers themselves, and will sound just as good as expensive bling caps.
