Gorgeous looking. Would love a comparison with the Sierra Acoustics.
The Sierra Acoustics is quite spectacular, especially for the price.
I'd be surprised if the Quads compete in that league but I guess we'll see.

I have no doubt the Quads will be priced higher..and as you noted, made in China.
These are replacing the old '12L' series - those were under a grand.

I rviewed the TR-5 from Roksan and there is the Sonist mentioned below - I wonder how much the Quad will retail.
I would be interested to know if the speakers are made in china?
Quad is a chinese company.

Don't they still design and operate out of the UK, aside from Manufacturing?
Sort of a return to the beginning. The 1st Quad speaker, before the ESL 57 was the CR on speaker with a Goodmans dynamic woofer crossed to a Quad ribbon driver.
You can be pretty sure. Here's some that are not (and one of the only ones, AFAIK). SET friendly, too...

They look very well made. Have you heard them, and do you have any idea of pricing?
Drivers are proprietary and are made in Minneapolis. Cabinets are USA made from thick, solid poplar wood. Copper, silver, and gold internal wiring from Snake River Audio is also made in the USA. Electronic components and hardware might be the only exceptions.
In 2014 I posted a review of the Concerto 4 floorstander (High-Efficiency Speaker forum), based upon a factory showroom audition.
In 2012 The Absolute Sound gave the Recital 3 floorstander an "Editor's Choice" award. Art Dudley provided a very positive review in Stereophile magazine as well.
Sorry, but I have not heard any of the smaller standmount models yet...
No affiliations.
The ribbon tweeter looks a lot like a Fountek. Could be a Chinese copy, though.
A chinese copy of a chinese ribbon?
Is there nothing the Chinese won't copy?
Yes, good Wonton Soup ......:)
I dont see anything wrong with them doing this speaker, what did they copy ..?

Hornlover suggested that the ribbon used might be a cheap chinese copy of a cheap chinese ribbon.
