I have a pair of Transmission Audio M1i monitor speakers. They were awesome until one of them fell off the speaker stand and broke. The manufacturer isn't making speakers anymore and isn't responding to emails / calls. A local repair tech can't repair it without a replacement ribbon tweeter. What do I do with one working speaker? Is it worth listing on the gon or here? They originally sold for about $2500, can I even get $500 for one working speaker? (I'd be thrilled if I could get that honestly but not holding my breath)

or contact Brian Walsh at Essential Audio and see if he would have a suggestion. He is a Transmission Audio dealer or was as the case may be.

Put it up for sale, someone will buy it either for a center channel or to replace a non-working one they have.
How do you know it's the ribbon? Is it physically damaged?
Is is just "not making sound"? Are there signs of mechanical damage?
That tweeter looks to be custom and not an OEM from a major ribbon manufacturer. But, it could be repairable, if you're lucky.
The magnet on the mid-bass *may* have shifted as well, and that would need to be checked out. It's also possible for a crossover component to have taken a hit, but that is far less likely.
If warranty is a non-issue (company no longer exists?) then I would consider having someone with some tech saavy open it up for you and have a look.

in a HT system?

And yet despite the look on my face, you're still talking.
I love the sound of a good ribbon tweeter- but they are sensitive/delicate.
Watch eBay perhaps?
Call Madisound. They may be able to retro fit a ribbon. Or possibly recommend a service to rebuild the coil????Also try googling speaker (coil) repair sites.
