No taste at all. The speakers appearance is about as ugly as the family truckster auto in the movie Vacation.
Follow Ups:
PE has those woofers on sale for $12 ea.
The 275-070 Tweeters are a long-time favorite of DIYers and there are tons of home brew speakers out there that use them. current price is 19.75 ea.
i have 2 pr of speakers running those here
If a famous speaker maker who makes $20K speakers took some low-buck components and made a $1500 entry level design that happened to sound good - especially compared to other $1500 designs - then it has good value.
This guy wants to be paid for his time, and I get that.
But the finish is deplorable and whether or not they meet the design criterion he claims they do is another matter entirely.
Let's see that step response! ;)
Cheers,
Presto
I agree. If he had offered and exquisitely veneered cabinet with a good looking & properly implemented crossover board I would not have been shocked at his price. As it is this is an experimental project to see if the design has the possibility to make a pre-production unit.
Hes no skilled cabinet maker, thats for sure
How could you *not* know the name of that esteemed vehicle?!!
My favorite part is when they strapped grandma onto the roof! Closely followed by dragging the dog behind for several miles - OUCH!!
