I've looked at Trinnov in the past and the software package looks very impressive but the hardware not so much, especially for the price.
If I went with Trinnov, I would need an MC Processor or Magnitude 32. I noticed that the MC Processor can be configured as an analog I/O device or digital I/O device or a mix of both. Did you use it's digital I/O at all, or did you stick to analog I/O? Can you comment on the transparency of its AD/DA when bypassing the EQ? I have to admit that I'm somewhat skeptical of its analog performance given that it's basically a PC with sound cards. My own attempts to build a HTPC weren't fruitful, I couldn't find a sound card that sounded any good and the PC was a noisy source.
Follow Ups:
1. Yes, I used analog and digital in/outs.
2. The digital inputs were not consistently better, subjectively, than the analog but were certainly not inferior. Admittedly, I have a philosophical bias for the digital. As for the outputs, that will depend on the DAC to which you are comparing it.
3. As I said, I prefer to avoid redundant conversions and to keep analog out of the computer.
