I am almost afraid to comment...but hereit is anyway. A friend of mine has a strange system. He has a preamp with two outs..he uses 2 different amps (an adcom and am emovita[hope I got that right] He uses 2 different sets of speakers entirely. And an M&K 15" dual subwoofer. I know this goes against common sense, but it sure sounds good...

That if he is happy and content with the set-up then that's all that matters.
And if you think it sounds good: bonus points!

I can't in my wildest dreams imagine that it sounds anything other than just bad. I'm surprised that you think otherwise, but it's your ears.

I hooked up a Blu ray player the other day. I had to use an HDMI cable for the video signal to the TV(I do not like them, but that was my only choice). I watched a movie, but forgot to turn down the volume on the TV(I used a coax cable for the audio signal to the receiver). It sounded terrible because the electronics were not processing equally and there was an echo. That was my concern using two different amps for him. But that was not a problem for him. Each speakers weakness/strengths are different and together sound very nice. I am sure I don't have as good of ears as you guys, but it does sound very nice even though it is strange. You can say it should not sound good, but it still does..
I think it is great!
