I'm not sure that you have given us enough information to provide the best advice. You have no system listed in "Inmate Systems" which would give is a clue as to the whole setup.
However bass problems of this nature are not usually caused by matters other than the speaker/room interface. You mention distance from the front wall but how close are they to the side walls? What is your listening position?
Searching around the web most users (and reviewers) of this speaker actually refer to its lack of bass as a small speaker. miner 42 seems to concur.
How much have you experimented with the positioning of them (and your listening seat)in your room?
Follow Ups:
I have a system posted with my moniker: Good Medicine
The speakers are two feet from both side walls. My listening position does not seem to factor in to what I am hearing. I thought that it was a speaker/room interface issue, but it has not happened with the several other speakers that I have had in the room; however, the only two speakers that I have listened to in this room, with the VSi 75, are the Merlin and Combak. Neither of these speakers had this issue.
Further to my earlier message today, I am just leaving for somewhere where I am unlikely to be able to access the internet so, until I return to civilisation in a few days time:
1. Further research produced a lot of references to these speakers needing space. 1M behind and 1M from side walls is recommended. Try moving your speakers away from the side walls a few centimetres at a time until the bass improves (I hope).
2. Although the speakers are rated as 4 ohm devices , try the 8 ohm outputs on your amp to see if that tightens the bass.
Thanks for the additional information. As you have both CD and LP sources, does the problem occur with both (this will help eliminate causes)?
One possibility that needs to be looked at is that the speakers are faulty in some way. Are they brand new or did you buy them used? If the former you may have recourse to the retailer; if the latter, is there any possibility that the previous owner could have fiddled around with the crossovers? As mentioned previously the reputation of these standmount speakers is not one of over generous bass.
Unfortunately the fact that other speakers worked fine in a similar position (I infer) in your room is no guarantee that the Auditor M's will as well. Are they set up across the short or long walls in your room?

The room is 16X11X8, and the speakers are on the short wall. It is not possible to place them on the long wall. I have ordered some decoupling spike discs just in case the issue is with the speaker/room interface. I am also going to experiment with distance from the front wall. I have the front of the speakers about 36" from the front wall. I will experiment with bringing them further out. I can't leave them further out, but can pull them out for serious listening sessions (if that solves the problem).
OK, so no long wall. Check my second message to you above. I'll catch up in a couple of days.
