We bought an old stereo cabinet and these speakers were inside.
I know nothing of speakers, but before I junk them, I wanted to check with the experts to see if they had any value or collectibility.

Thanks for your help!

the condition, from the supplied photos, appear to show abused wood cabinetry, unseemly speaker front panels. How a speaker appears is the best indicator about how much care it has received, in general.
Since, besides these two warning signs, you also report that the sound is seriously lacking (and you seemingly don't possess a lot of technical knowledge or ability), I would hesitate to invest anything in them. A pair in wonderful condition MIGHT go for $200, though the vintage market has fallen from just a few years ago. With all the issues this pair has, even were to you to do all the work yourself (which I'm assuming you can't), you most probably would invest more than $200 (assuming your time is worth something to you).
Far better would be just to go online and find a nice pair.
FYI, I now own two vintage pairs of speakers and, over the past 7 or 8 years, have owned five or six others (and auditioned many more).
Lastly, I'd ignore those that claim fantastic improvements in sound: super-detail ("Why listen: you can hear the brushes move across the cymbals before they're struck!") doesn't mean more musically satisfying, necessarily.

And I would sell them to the highest bidder and then get some modern speakers that will blow them into the weeds...

Welcome! abc-
yes AR has collectors out there. Carefully check out the speaker surrounds and cones prior to connecting to any gear for listening. Nice find.
Beats me why.
And yet despite the look on my face, you're still talking.
another pic...
Have you hooked them up, do they work?
You might want to ask in the vintage forum.

don't hook them up until you check the foam surrounding the cones. they probably need new surrounds. yes they have collectors value and sound very good
It's hard to make a bad 2-way monitor, no?
Observe, before you think. Think before you open your yap. Act on the basis of experience.
It is quite easy actually.
Depending on the requirements it can be quite hard to make a good one.
The no at the end, is just a way of saying isn't that so, in danish. I lost my tongue for a second.
My small, sealed box 2-way is my favorite speaker for my 300B amplifier.

That grammar/construction is also used in French, at least when speaking to non-French-speaking people, 'cause it's easier than saying "isn't that true?".

Food for thought, even for Frihed.
:)
and Dynaco integrated amp. Just having such a setup would be worth the nostalgia. Although, most people I know substituted KLH loudspeakers. A trip down memory lane. Sound was pretty good as I recall.
Not me: I had my Bose 901s and Pioneer SX receiver which sounded quite OK for rock-n-roll.
