Yesterday, I blew one of my subwoofers. I realize the Opitimus 1000s aren't anything special but I've had them almost 25 years now and I like them. So far I haven't had much luck finding a replacement. These speakers are 100w bass reflex. I don't mind replacing the pair of subwoofers with something close but I can't go much bigger since my Pioneer VSX-522 amplifier is rated at 140w/channel. I've looked at some of the 15"subwoofers on ebay but they all appear to be to high wattage. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Here's the specs:

It's always best to have the original in a BR cab. Have you checked
the woofer for a bad flex lead?. EZ fix (for me) Maybe a shop near you
can do it. Could also be the crossover if you didn't pull woofer out
and test it directly.Have these been re-foamed? Time for that too.
I'd replace any electrolytic caps in there too.If you can't do any of this, time to move on and get newer speakers, IMO.

If these can be repaired, that would be my preference. The Woofer works until the watts hits them hard and then it stutters.
I refoamed them about 8-9 years ago. They still look to be in good condition.
My method of checking the crossovers was to switch the woofers from cabinet to the other and the same Woofer still does it in the other cabinet.
I have not checked the flex lead but I will. I have not replaced the capacitors.
I have a Fluke meter and a soldering iron so I should possess the skills to repair it if it's possible.
Could be a lead..."hits hard" would stress the lead. Do a good
visual inspection where the lead enters the cone...look for any
fraying. It can also fail at the solder joint at the terminal, so
I'd apply heat and add solder there. To replace the lead, you
have to get at the lead/VC wire solder joint, which is normally
under the dustcap. If you carefully cut the cap off, you can re-use
it.
Try parts express or Madisound.
That is going to be a hard find at 7 ohms?
I would assume that by saying that you "haven't had much luck finding a replacement", you have tried eBay? "you may have to actually buy the whole speaker (or pair) to get the parts.
If you aren't too worried about getting the 1000's exactly right again, then yes, Parts Express may have a retro-fit for your needs...

Thanks. They have the Dayton Audio DC380-8 15" Classic Woofer that may be just what I need.
The PE woofer looks pretty close and would probably work OK. Be sure and replace BOTH woofers.
And yet despite the look on my face, you're still talking.
Check out Parts Express. They have many 15 inch replacement woofers.
