Inmate51, have you ever run an audio design firm? Have you ever invested a substantial portion of your savings, plus money you can borrow from family and friends, to build the equipment you wish to offer for sale? Do you have any idea what it takes to build a series of pieces of your product that can be provided for audition and taken to shows? If not, you have no idea what a small firm goes through to get samples into the field so you can then build for those who hear, like, and will purchase. Of course there are some demo units.

Thanks for answering my question. Not, since you didn't."an audio design firm". Hmmm. You don't have any idea of my audio and business background, and I like it that way.
Rushton, I 'get' that you love these speakers and are carrying the torch for them. Hopefully, you'll get a discount on a "new" pair for your promotion efforts. Maybe you can even get a discounted-discount price for the "lightly used" demos.
But, seriously, for a small company to sell off "a few" of their "lightly used" demos, for which they typically ask $17,000 to $32,000 - custom built one pair at a time, and for which, according to you, they've spend a bundle of their own money and other's money on, seems more than a bit puzzling. As a businessman, at $17K to $32K a pair, I'd keep those puppies until they no longer serve their purpose.
BTW, "used" would mean 30 to 50 percent off, which might be a good deal, although it might still be too much for a $17K-$32K two-way - I haven't heard them.
:)

you shouldn't be surprised by some of these responses. after all, this is the internet where a bunch of people who don't know shit about what they are talking about are perfectly comfortable offering their uninformed opinions about just about anything.

Collinslaw, yes, you're right. Thanks for offering the words. I've been posting and replying to questions around here for 10 years, and I understand how the anonymity of the place removes the civility one might otherwise expect to find in a conversation. I just keep hoping for better. :-)

keep hoping. one day, maybe. enjoy your speakers when you get them. i am on the other end of the spectrum using very reasonably priced speakers where if i mentioned their names, i would loose my audiophile cred with many of the experts. they just sound really good is all.

Haha, I understand what you're saying here, Tom. Actually, I'm not a prospective purchaser of these speakers. If I were in the market, I'd sure have them on my short list - it's why I say they are competitive with speakers at twice their price. But, I'm not in the market to make a change.
