Guys, Look at this
http://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w8-1772-8-neodymium-full-range-driver--264-893?utm_source=msn&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=B_MFG_TU_Products_Broad_Plain&utm_group=264-893_BP_G100-200
This is the standard driver sold at parts express for $225?
Unless the driver they are using is highly modded it is a cheap driver. My Lowther PM2a's now go for $2400 each

The speaker has evolved over three years: Tangband to Lowther to the German AER drivers. The Lowther, at any price, simply could not provide manufacturing consistency and reliability. The AER drives are a the current driver preferred, but Tangband is still available.

Over on Audiogon it is stated that with the Tangband driver the price is $16900. With the AER field coil driver it is $32550
Alan
The Tangband version is obviously much, much less expensive and will likely be phased out as a production model. The version with the AER cones and the sub drivers retails at $32k and change, however one pair of the field coils, a demo pair, is available at $21,700. This is the pair we have been listening to and raving about. The subs come with their own amplifier.
