As I read these posts, I have to wonder.....someone says they sound dull like a blanket is over them, someone says they are way too bright.....could it be something else is at play here? I have Vandersteens and they sound close to my Sennheiser 650 earphones..not as much definition, and a wee bit less highs, but pretty close. The soundstage, depth, and favored presentation is with the Vandersteens.

I was just posting when your email came in and I was very impressed with your figuring it out from just my posts! It kept gnawing at me, then I decided to roll some opamps, and there it was. Back to my AD8599's, wish I could do better, but all around I seem to be stuck with them. Some interesting stuff out there, but it seems to be the least flawed of the bunch. I'd mention the one that I found to be harsh, but that would just fuel another fire! :-) Folks take their audio far to personally, well, sorta. ;-)
Best Regards,
Lou
Lou-
I have enjoyed reading your posts/thoughts. Keep up the excellent (modding) work!
Can't do too much more, I have only so much money to play with and I have 2 boats which almost always demand some sort of economic attention.
Best Regards,
Lou
