In Reply to: RE: Epos Epic 2 speakers for half price - $399 posted by mbnx01 on October 09, 2014 at 09:42:58
Or has anyone else out there heard these speakers?
There are some good reviews on line, but Epos plays some funny games with the pricing on these. They were selling for $399 a year or two ago.

...a couple of years ago and like them a lot.
I paid $739 for demos - I believe they listed for $899.
$399 is a hell of a deal for the Epic 2s.
Reading RJR's reviews in Stereophile where he compares the two, the M5i has a little more detail where the Epic 2's have more bass.
Otherwise he says they are comparable.
List is $799.
There were discontinued and blown out at half price, then were gone for quite awhile.
Apparently they got in some fresh stock because they're back. I'm sure this is a 'while supplies last' kinda deal - if you want a four hundred dollar a pair of speakers I would not dally.
Yes, I've owned these. They are a very good eight hundred dollar a pair speaker.
At $399? Crazy good deal.

I've got a Nuforce DDA-100 running into PSB Image B25's that sound good enough together that I haven't had the urge to change anything. Would the Epic 2 be much of an improvement over the B25'S ? With the class D amp, an edgy tweeter would probably be best avoided. Is the Elan series a big step up from the Epic series ? While I'm at it, how far behind the LS-50 is the Epic 2 ?
Thanks Bruce
The LS-50 is definitely a step up in resolution and dynamics from the Epic 2.
I've never heard the Elan's, always been curious about them.
If they ever get discontinued and blown out I might try a pair just for fun.
Never heard the B25's.

Thanks, sounds like I better stay with the B25'S.
