I see there's at least one pair of Harbeths in there. And, a nice pair of J.M. Reynaud Offrande speakers for $1500...

Those are the P2's. Big difference!
... are said to be Harbeth killers. Dunno about that, but they are supposed to be pretty nice. They come with original boxes, so the seller might be persuaded to ship them outside of Philly.

I can only suggest a speaker that I am familiar with and have owned. Why suggest a speaker by pure hearsay? There are plenty of great speakers out there but we can't listen to all of them in our own listening room!
... sounds like he/she is bit inexperienced and so, is asking for any suggestions. That's an indication that he/she might be willing to buy a pair of speakers based on "pure hearsay". And, when you think about it, "hearsay" is what this forum is about much of the time. You suggested buying pair of Harbeths on ebay. Is he/she going to be able to audition a pair of Harbeths like those ones before making a purchase? Maybe, maybe not. You have to be willing to take some chances in this game, sometimes.
To me, asking the OP to take your word on the Harbeths is no different than asking the OP to take the word of a pro reviewer like Doug Schroeder on the JM Reynauds. Schroeder say the Reynauds kick ass - maybe that's true and maybe it isn't.

Sure everything is a crap shoot. I just gave my opinion on a speaker that I am familiar with and always gets outstanding reviews. As far as this Doug Schroeder you mention, where is his review on the Reynauds speaker? I am interested in reading it.

My mistake! The pro reviewer was Bob Neill, not Doug Schroeder...Bob Neill did do a review of the Offrandes (enjoythemusic 4/02) in which he favorably compared them to both Spendor and Harbeth. Those were the earlier Offrandes, not the V.4 version that is now for sale in our classifieds however. When the "improved" Offrandes came out, Bob Neill was even more impressed than he had been earlier. Neill's comments on the Offrandes can be found in the AA archives if you'd care to do a search.

the same Bob Neill that owns Amherst Audio that sells JM RENAUDS? Hmmm !?
"... maybe that's true, maybe it isn't".If a person's review or recommendation seems to be in line with the reviews and recommendations of others, that person might be worth trusting. Neill seems pretty trustworthy, IMO.
That said, I'm not sure that the recommendations of a dealer or pro reviewer are any less trustworthy than the gushing praises of a regular fan. Some people feel good when they can make others like what they like, but those who are willing to lie about a product in order to make themselves feel good this way are in the minority, I think.
Relax, the OP will come to his or her own conclusions eventually...
