In Reply to: RE: Guru Jr. vs Sjöfn (the Clue) speakers ... anyone heard both? posted by Lawrence of Suburbia on July 27, 2014 at 12:24:08
I had heard "the Clue" at a show - they sounded great, but it was uncomfortably loud, so I didn't really form a coherent opinion.

Hey! I have a blog now: http://mancave-stereo.blogspot.com or "like" us at https://www.facebook.com/mancave.stereo

Yes I heard the Clue at RMAF--for a little devil it packed a punch!
A possibility--but the same size Dynacos are a tad smoother and fuller especially in the bass

What Dynacos?? I didn't know Dynaco still made speakers!
My humble apologies
Dynaudios

Are the two similarly priced?
IIRC Guru Junior is $1,300-ish; Clue is $1,000ish
I heard the clue in my home and really liked them. Didn't care for their looks, but that's a personal thing I guess. If I had a grand to spend on speakers I'd probably get a pair.
They had a colossal soundstage, as big as the wall they were on. Very nice midrange, great dynamics and excellent bass.
Is the guru Jr. even available in this country?

I think Whetstone Audio in Austin, TX does. Two thousand miles from my house! :(
