Hello everyone im new and just popped by to ask some really sound advice (see what I did there).
I am planning to upgrade my system that I use for my house parties and small venues.
My budget for speakers is £200-300 max and for an amp £100-180ish and before I go on yes thats a really tight budget and I dont expect great setups or anything but its the best I can do for now.
I like music loud at my parties buy also bassy and I have been using 4 hyundai multicav 180rms floorstanding speakers hooked up to my 2 amps for a while but it just doesnt reach low levels of bass, just the woofy bass so I am looking in upgrading to 15" woofers to hopefully get some deeper richer bass.
I have read some of these speakers and amps are not great like Skytec and I would love to also hear from people who have some of these or similar
Also please tell me if these would give me some of that low level bass and what amp are good and what matches best or even better alternatives.
(also please correct the specs if wrong as I couldnt find some)

The recommendation for powered speakers is a good one. You'll get better value, even if they initially cost a bit more.
You want to get away from this "bargain basement" bottom-end gear and step up to at least Behringer level gear. Even better if you can save up a bit or get financing and get a level above Behringer as well.
The main questions are:
a) what kind of sound quality do you want
b) how robust does this gear need to be electronically
c) how robust does this gear need to be physically
d) If you're doing a paid show, are gear failures acceptable*
*Are you going to be working towards a local reputation? Can you afford to have an amp fail at a show and say "Sorry folks. No more music!"? The level of gear you're buying there... it's all made-in-China bottom price point stuff, and very often that stuff, despite being the cheapest, doesn't represent the best value. For example, I caution guys against using lower-end gear or unreliable / old gear if they're doing weddings. There is one event where you don't want a gear failure it's at a wedding - if you want to meet Bridezilla, have your rig crap out 20 minutes into the dance portion of the wedding before you got a chance to spin the Bird Dance or the Ketchup Song... yikes.
Anyways, I look at gear as an investment. If you're building a reputation for paid shows, I'd factor that in to the value aspect. The gear you referenced is dressed up as "professional" gear, but in truth... it's really not.
Cheers,
Presto
I have taken in what people have said and I am not going to go for a cheap amp but have to keep costs as low as I can and ive seen these amps, what do you think?
Behringer-Europower-EPX2800-Bridgeable-PA-Amplifier-2800W
Behringer-iNuke-NU3000-Bridgeable-PA-Amplifier-3000W
Now they seem a good make and I still cant find RMS power but will they run around 800RMS each in 4ohms mode because that's what I can make out and what model is better and why?
I have found them on ebay for cheaper too so I am able to buy either one if you guys let me know what you think of them, hey theyve got to be better than a skytec amp right lol
edit: also I have seen the 4000 and 6000 amps they do but do you think thats overkill? what one would give me the best sound to match the speakers I want to get (500-600rms) 1500w peak?
Christopher
Look at the Crown amplifiers. For $100 more than the Behringer stuff, you're buying from one of the most reputable amp companies on the planet.

To properly spec amps for your application you need to settle on speakers - in your case I would definately recommend stand-mount satellites and a single sub cabinet. Most smaller mobile DJ outfits would probably be getting both in powered units - much faster to set up, less complex, fewer components - just plug and play. Why lug speaker cable around when you can use a patch cord to a powered speaker?
You have to talk about bass reproduction too, if you're doing dance music, techno, house, dubstep... this stuff has killer bass lines in it. In this case, it's maximum excursion you're going to use up first - probably long before you hit maximum thermal power handling. The woofers in those speaker cabinets you were showing us have woofers that might be worth $25 each.
How are your woodworking skills? Can you build a rectangular box and put black carpet on it? Then you could build something far superior - but it still would not be super super cheap.
"You get what you pay for" really does apply - especially when you're talking about price points in entry-level PA gear. THere is a certain point you need to get past for stuff that is simply decent, that will last.
I am not familiar with low-cost Behringer amps - I have only used older technology Crown, Amcron, BGW, QSC amps etc. and those companies make excellent hard working products.
Cheers,
Presto
Powered PA speakers are safer, easier to move and setup, and usually come in a wide range of price, size, and quality. If the time comes they would resale easier. Speaking of which, check for any used products in your area. In the case of used pro gear in person auditioning is a must.
