Got this from SVS.
Unluckily I have one place to put my sub. Where my wife will allow it.
Follow Ups:
I find placing my sub on a plane in front of the main speakers is consistent with time-aligned speakers in a single box such as Vandersteen.

I have always placed my main speakers out into the room for best soundstage and imaging. My listening position is also several feet away from the wall behind me. With this type of speaker/listening configuration, I find the best placement for my sub is against the wall behind my listening position so that it is basically the same distance from my ears as my main speakers in front.
Best regards,
