Hallo ! Have an old Electro Voice 15" from the Force series mounted in a big pinecabinet for my guitaramp . Its a "de-tuned- cabinet" built from Kevin OīConnorīs book. I loke this 15" speaker very much . Under this is a 12" JBL D120 with a aluminium dome . Also in this frontpanel there are several holes or openings . Both drivers are 8 ohms and connected in parallell . My problem is that the JBL is a bit harsch , scrill sounding . I put a small cushion in front of the 12" and it became better . Wonder if I can connect a suitable resistor in series with this JBL or use some cap . Or shall I mount a 5-7 " plate or dome in front of this speaker in order to spread the high notes ? Or do you have another suggestion ? Thanks for an answer .

I have lots of new surplus ferrite coils, many sizes, if you
can contact me through here(my profile), please do.
Coner
You need an inductor (coil) Get an assortment from 0.8mH to 3mH and experiment. Higher value, more low pass, less high frequency response. They go in series with the + lead of the driver.
A hunch would be a 1.2mH but I am not there----
Thanks for that answer ! Do You think I can wind such a coil on a wooden or paperbobbin ? Bobbinsize , Cu- treadsize , number of turns ...
.... I mean to start with ??? Any suggestion ?
Buy them, they are cheap compared to the raw cost of magnet wire. You will save money to buy them outright.
