Hi. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion or information on whether Thiel CS1.6 speakers would be a good match for a McIntosh MC2105 amplifier (and tube preamp)?
Thanks,
Todd

I ask in that this will contribute to the overall perceptions you'll likely make. The Thiels are great speakers and you'll be driving them with ~100wpc or so.
Also, given that the amp is ~40 years old, what updates have been done to it. There's nothing like well-restored Mac gear in a dark room with those blue meters bouncing along to the music. So, you can tell I'm a bit biased....
Cheers,
David
The 2105 has been fully serviced by Terry DeWick.

...a friend loves his Thiel 2.4s with his Mac MC275.
I recommend tubes with Thiels.
Using Manley NeoClasic 250s with my Thiele 7.2s.
