There is a pair for sale on Craigslist nearby. What's the story with these? Are they, or were they, high-end? They utilize conventional cone drivers, but the cabinets make them look like a flat-panel design.
Just curious if I should take a closer look for the price of $300.
TIA...

YES--very high end speakers--very good quality--you need to demo them ASAP! good luck!!
It's my understanding these models were made by the company (Canadian?) that bought Dahlquist. And that they were not very good, certainly not like the classic DQ-8's, DQ-12's, etc.

The DQ-28s were among the last sold by the "original" Dahlquist company. Judging by the looks of them, they were probably designed by Carl Marchisotto before he left? Regnar lists them among the other "classic" Dahlquist models, but don't appear to support them with replacement parts.
Don't know much more about them, except that if you've got the power they're probably worth a listen.
Good luck.
